Kuroloxtl

Without a doubt, the kuroloxtl is one of the most bizarre creatures I have designed thus far. Before coming up with this design, I had already created an aviary creature and a mammal, so I knew I wanted to design something different, like an amphibian or reptile. Eventually I decided to combine aspects of both and design a creature that was dependent on water. Originally the kuroloxtl was meant to be aquatic, having fins instead of legs, but I had already designed my last two creatures on land, and for consistency's sake, I made the kuroloxtl terrestrial.

However, I still drew massive inspiration from aquatic animals, such as the Mexican salamander, known as the axolotl, and a sea dragon. Other animals that influenced my design include a tree frog, a tadpole, an iguana, and a serpent.

The name is a combination of "axolotl" and the name "Kuromori", a lizard-like colossus

and monster from one of my favorite video games, "Shadow of the Colossus."
